UCLA Research Study and Data Collection Project

Facilitating critical research

Through a partnership with Daniel Geschwind, MD, Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, SNN recruits families for a study examining whether patterns of variants ties to autism in people of European descent are similar to those of African Americans.

This project also aims to increase the number of people from minority groups that participate in autism research to better understand and meet the needs of African Americans and other minorities. Several data collection events are held throughout the year at both UCLA and other locations in South Los Angeles. Families receive compensation for their participation.
