AbilityFirst Camp Paivika
Offers year round programs for children, teens, and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. Camp Paivika has been welcoming campers since 1947, and is fully accredited by the American Camping Association. Our camping program encourages independence and broadens social contacts through recreation.

Actors For Autism

Located in Los Angeles County, California, Actors for Autism runs both at Film Camp and an Animation Camp for autistic children and their typical developing peers. In the Film Camp children learn to develop a script and create a storyboard of their idea, they learn how to coordinate the props, costumes, direct, produce, do lights, videotape and edit their movie. The camp concludes with a Wrap Party where everyone gets a chance to show their completed movie to family and friends. In the Animation Camp children learn how to create an animation short using stop motion animation. They design title cards, backgrounds, props and characters add sound and voice overs and get a chance to preview their completed animated short for family and friends at the conclusion of the camp. Camp Dates are August 2 thru August 6, 2010 and August 9 thru August 13, 2010. Each camp runs from 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m Monday through Friday. The cost of one week of camp is $500.00 per child and scholarships are available. Actors for Autism offers Summer Camp in two locations in and around Los Angeles, California.

Camp Beyond the Scars
Camp Beyond the Scars consists of a three-day winter camp and a weeklong summer camp. Firefighters Kids Camp

The camp staff, activities and support programs have all been selected to meet the special needs of the young burn survivors while still allowing the kids to enjoy a traditional summer camp setting.

Jay Nolan Community Services Family Support

Jay Nolan offers an inclusive overnight Summer Camp program for children with Autism and their non disabled peers in a caring fun environment. Children have the opportunity to engage and interact with their non disabled peers in a typical camp setting with lots of fun recreational and craft activities. Due to the recent change in Regional Center Funding for camp Jay Nolan is only offering one camp session from July 25-30, 2010. The cost for camp is $880.00 for campers with disabilities and $500.00 for campers without disabilities. Additional fees may apply if the camp director determines additional support or supervision is needed. Only campers between the ages of 8 and 15 will be accepted.

Kris Camp is a therapy-intensive, a respite camp for children with Autism and their families which is held in Idyllwild, California in Malibu, California. The focus of Kris Camp is to provide autistic children with 6 hours per day of intensive one-on-one and group therapy in a relaxed camp like setting. During the six hours non disabled siblings can attend sibling camp and participate in a variety of camp activities. Parents are provided with respite during therapy and sibling camp, and pick their kids up at the end of each therapy day. In addition to parent have the opportunity to meet with therapists and other parents over dinner several nights during their stay. Supervision of children is provided so that parents can enjoy a relaxed chat time free from distractions. Kris Camp is held two to three weeks a year in California with additional dates in Arizona and Connecticut. California summer Camp dates are June 8 -11 in Malibu, California, June 17 – 23 and June 24 – 30 California.inIdyllwild, The cost of camp ranges from $800.00 for the Malibu Camp and $2250.00 plus lodging for the Idyllwild Camps. Partial camp scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis. Ages 4- 15 are served by Kris Camp.

Description: The Aquatic Department provides adaptive swim lessons exclusively to persons with special needs (i.e. Physical, emotional, cognitive, learning or any debilitating disability.) Private and semi-private lessons are offered and designed to meet the individual need of the participant. Lessons vary in length depending on what program you choose.
