The only summer inclusion camp in Los Angeles for special needs children and their siblings, Special Needs Network’s Joe Patton Academy Camp (JPAC Summer Inclusion Camp) serves as a safe, fun haven for over 300 students ages 5 through 16 by providing a host of educational and recreational activities. The Camp JPAC experience includes structured activities, spontaneous free play, organized sports, and social interaction. Children develop and explore their imaginations as they engage in a myriad of fun and educational activities including: dance, music, social skills, arts and crafts, sports, games, theater, science, field trips, math and reading.
Camp JPAC will be located near the Crenshaw/ Baldwin hills area on the campus of Fifty-Fourth Street Elementary School 5501 Eileen Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90043 and is open from July 10 through August 4, 2017. Camp JPAC believes that inclusion provides the best learning environment for both typically developing and special needs kids and therefore there a ratio 60/ 40 ratio of special needs and typically-developing children is maintained. Camp JPAC is free for low to moderate income families. Families with a combined total income of more than $75,000 per year are asked to make a $100 donation to help defray operating expenses.
Do you have a child between the ages of 12 and 16 who enjoys science, technology, math, and engineering? If so, indicate this on your application and your child may be selected to participate in CAMP JPAC’s Science and Robotics Workshop, designed to nurture the next generation of scientists, techies, and engineers!
